Swansea is the gateway to the Gower peninsula. The very first area in Britain to be designated an "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty". There is a costal path running the entire length of the Gower and Swansea coast. In fact, Wales is the first country in the world to have a formal trail the whole way around its coast. You can enjoy the great outdoors; wonderful beaches, stunning cliffs, woodlands, open spaces, parks, gardens, pretty villages and waterfalls close by.

 

There is the town centre. Swansea has comprehensive shopping with town centre shops, an indoor market open 6 days a week, and scheduled outdoor markets. It has several museums, theatres, music venues and art galleries and various entertainment and tourist attractions.
